Kazakhstan's special services are conducting an investigation regarding comedian Nurlan Saburov
The National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan has initiated an investigation concerning the well-known comedian Nurlan Saburov.

As reported by the press service of the NSC, "information about possible offenses has been noted, and relevant checks are currently being conducted." This statement was made in response to a request from the Tengrinews publication regarding whether the investigation involves potential criminal violations, including the article on mercenarism.

Previously, a video was published on the internet claiming that Saburov provided assistance to the fighters of the "Wagner Legion Istra," which is a criminally punishable act in Kazakhstan.

According to the Finratings portal, activist Marat Turymbetov submitted a request to the General Prosecutor's Office asking to investigate the video in which the comedian is allegedly seen giving equipment to Russian soldiers as a gift.

According to Article 170 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "Mercenarism" is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years.

It is also worth noting that Nurlan Saburov has been banned from entering Russia for a period of 50 years.
