On February 17, the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic issued a ruling that upheld the decision of the Bishkek Administrative Court. This ruling concerned the lawsuit of Kanybek Bazarbaev, a candidate for deputy in district No. 13, who contested the cancellation of the elections that took place on March 1 at the initiative of the Central Election Commission.

Recall that on February 16, 2026, the Administrative Court supported the decision of the Central Election Commission to cancel the elections. In response, Bazarbaev filed a cassation appeal with the Supreme Court against the actions of the lower court.

Extraordinary elections to the Jogorku Kenesh were held on November 30, 2025, and on December 3 of the same year, the Central Election Commission canceled the registration of all candidates in district No. 13 due to violations related to the installation of cameras by observers at polling stations, which called into question the secrecy of the vote. Repeat elections were scheduled for March 1, 2026, and 23 new candidates were registered. The Central Commission for Elections and Referenda reviewed its decision following the early elections on February 13, 2026, declaring the elections valid. As a result, Aibek Altynbekov, Talant Mamytov, and Aigul Karabekova were recognized as deputies.
