The ministry is confident that the rest time for students is distributed fairly
The Ministry of Education commented on parents' dissatisfaction regarding the fact that the spring break consists of only one working day — Friday, March 6. The agency stated that the academic quarters and breaks are organized in accordance with the new requirements of the Labor Code and the holidays for 2026.
At the same time, March 7 and 8 were included in the spring break period for schoolchildren.
"Each student in general education institutions is entitled to 30 calendar days for rest during the academic year," the ministry noted.
Following the principles of even distribution of academic weeks, the autumn break was scheduled from November 5 to 9, 2025, which totals 5 days, including weekends, while the spring break is from March 6 to 8, that is, 3 days including weekends, the officials added.
Previously, parents expressed concerns that such a short period of time would not allow students to rest adequately, especially considering that the third quarter is one of the most challenging and longest in the academic program.
