The message that the Orozо fast begins on February 18 is inaccurate. This was reported by Kaktus.media, citing the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.

Since February 17, rumors have been circulating on social media that the fast will start a day earlier than announced by the Fatwa Council of the Muftiyats of the Organization of Turkic States.

In the press service of the SAMK, it was explained: "According to astronomical calculations and observations, February 18, 2026, which corresponds to the year 1447 in the Hijra calendar, will be the last day of the month of Sha'ban, and the first day of Ramadan will fall on February 19."

Furthermore, the muftiyat noted that countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Indonesia, Brunei, Oman, Singapore, and Malaysia, where the majority of the population are Muslims, also announced February 19 as the first day of the fast. Japan, Australia, and South Korea share the same opinion.
