The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan has announced that the first day of the month of Ramadan falls on February 19.
The agency refuted rumors that appeared on social media claiming that fasting begins on February 18.
"According to astronomical calculations and observations, February 18, 2026, in the Hijri calendar, will be the last day of the month of Sha'ban, and the first day of Ramadan will be February 19," the DUMK stated. They also noted that in most Muslim countries, fasting will indeed begin tomorrow.
