At the meeting of the Environmental Council dedicated to improving air quality, the mayor of Bishkek, Aybek Junushaliev, presented information about the municipality's work on the protection of green spaces.

He noted that city services are engaged not only in the removal of hazardous trees but also in their treatment and preventive care.

According to the mayor, in 2025, 93,522 trees were treated in Bishkek, which is three times higher than the figures from previous years.

These actions are aimed at preventing diseases and prolonging the life of trees.

“We are making every effort to preserve the trees so that they serve us for as long as possible. However, there are times when trees fall and cause damage to people and their property. Therefore, we are forced to remove some hazardous trees,” added Aybek Junushaliev.

The issue of tree felling remains one of the most pressing and concerning topics for the city's residents. At the Eco Council meeting, many questions were raised about the criteria by which trees are classified as hazardous and subject to removal.

The mayor emphasized that in making decisions, city authorities strive to find a balance between ensuring the safety of citizens and the necessity of preserving the capital's green spaces.
