A resident of Batken region was helped to collect child support

A woman from the Batken region was able to collect child support for her four children thanks to the help of the ombudsman. The information was published by the Ombudsman Institute.

In January of this year, 34-year-old I.K.M. sought support, stating that three years ago she divorced K.K.Z. and immediately after that filed a claim for child support. The court in the Kadamjay district ordered her ex-husband to pay 50% of his income.

According to I.K.M., initially the child support amounted to 3,148 soms for each child, totaling 12,594 soms. The payments were regular until 2024, but then they became partial, and in 2025 they completely stopped. The applicant tried to contact the Department of Judicial Executors, but to no avail.

After the ombudsman intervened in the situation, an official request was sent. It turned out that the ex-husband, who worked in Russia in 2024, was sending money, but the woman did not receive it due to technical issues — her bank account was blocked.

The arrears for child support in 2025 amounted to 151,128 soms. With the help of the institute's staff, the former spouses were able to reach an agreement: the man promised to pay off the debt by March 15 of this year. In February, he already transferred 111,000 soms to his ex-wife's account.

The Ombudsman Institute emphasizes that the protection of the rights of women and children remains an important part of their work. In 2025, the institute received 56 complaints regarding non-payment of child support.
