As reported by the director of the institute, Jalil Sheishenov, despite the difficulties encountered, the work of the institution continues. From January 22 to February 20, 52 open-heart surgeries and 56 angiographic procedures were performed within the walls of the institute. Additionally, the number of outreach consultations has increased — specialists held 16 meetings in maternity hospitals and inpatient facilities.

Modern treatment methods are actively being implemented in the institute. In particular, over the past month, five surgeries were performed using minimally invasive techniques — mini-thoracotomies. These surgeries are conducted on life-saving indications for patients with severe cardiovascular pathologies, including newborns.

Regular computed tomography has also been organized for diagnosing complex congenital heart defects (temporarily based at the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy on Saturdays), and the institution has received a new echocardiography machine. Measures have been taken to improve the diagnostic service and optimize the consultative-diagnostic department, which will help reduce waiting times, especially among children with congenital heart defects.

After returning to the main building, the institute intends to increase the volume of high-tech cardiac surgical assistance, improve the accessibility of consultations, and strengthen the staff.
