According to the official match calendar of the Premier League, the new championship of the Kyrgyz Republic in football for the 2026 season will start on March 1. The press service of the KPL reported this recently.
This season, 16 teams will compete for the championship title, which is two more than in the previous tournament. The increase in the number of clubs and their geographical diversity is expected to enhance the level of competition and intensify rivalry. It is worth noting that in 2025, when the tournament was held under the name Kyrgyz Premier League, 14 teams participated, and the championship title was won by "Bars" from Karakol.
In the new season, the following teams will compete for victory: "Dordoi," "Ilbirs," "Asiagol," "Alga," "Bishkek City" (Bishkek), "Abdysh-Ata" (Kant), "Asia" (Talas), "Alai" and "OshMU" (Osh), "Bars" (Karakol), "Kyrgyzaltyn" (Kara-Balta), "Muras United" (Manas), "Nefchi" (Kochkor-Ata), "Ozgon" (Uzgen), "Talant" (Besh-Kungey), and "Toktogul" (Toktogul).
The first match day will take place on March 1 with matches between "Ilbirs" and "Alai," and "Nefchi" and "Ozgon." On March 2, matches are scheduled between "Kyrgyzaltyn" and "OshMU," and "Asiagol" and "Abdysh-Ata." The first round will conclude on March 3 with the meeting of "Alga" with "Talant" and "Bishkek City" with "Bars." The games of "Toktogul" against "Muras United" and "Asia" against "Dordoi" have been postponed to March 18.
Considering the record number of teams and their broad representation from different regions, the new season promises to be one of the most significant in the history of the national championship.
