According to the National Statistics Committee, by the beginning of 2026, the number of men in Kyrgyzstan reached 3.7 million, accounting for 49.5% of the total population of the country. This data was prepared in anticipation of Defender of the Fatherland Day.

It is noteworthy that approximately two-thirds of men live in rural areas, while one in seven of them resides in the capital city — Bishkek.

According to statistics for 2024, more than 77% of men of working age are employed, with the average age of workers being 39 years. The most represented age group among the employed is men aged 35-39, who make up about 14% of the total workforce.

Men in Kyrgyzstan are primarily engaged in key sectors of the economy, such as construction, transportation, mining, and energy, including electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning.

In 2024, 45,000 new marriages were registered, with the majority involving men aged 20 to 29. The average age for a first marriage among men was 27.6 years, while for a second marriage it was 39.6 years.

In public administration, men also hold leading positions: their share in government bodies reaches 55.4%, while in local self-government bodies it is 62.3%.
