At a meeting of the committee on agrarian policy, water resources, subsoil use, and environmental protection of the Jogorku Kenesh, the first deputy minister of water resources, agriculture, and processing industry of Kyrgyzstan, Zhanibek Kerimaliev, reported that the republic currently provides itself with six out of nine key food products.

Previously, Kyrgyzstan could rely on only three of these nine products. "Now we have reached a new level: six products is a significant achievement that has not been seen before. Our goal is to further ensure self-sufficiency with the seventh product — vegetable oil. To this end, we are focusing on the cultivation of agricultural crops necessary for its production," he emphasized.

In response to deputies' questions regarding the distribution of loans in agriculture, the deputy minister noted that the agency has changed its approach, focusing on quality rather than quantity. "Previously, loans were issued haphazardly, without specific plans. However, over the past four years, we have started issuing loans with a clear purpose. This has contributed to the growth of indicators in breeding farms, dairy production, and other sectors," added Zhanibek Kerimaliev.
