Samad Erkinbekov has been appointed the new director of the Directorate for Non-Olympic Sports. This decision was announced at a meeting with the staff, where Kubanych Ermekov, head of the department for analysis and development of high-performance sports, emphasized the need to strengthen the directorate's work in preparing athletes for international competitions, as well as supporting young talents and developing non-Olympic sports.
Erkinbekov will begin his work with a probation period of three months. As of today, he has already started fulfilling his duties, including coordinating sports programs, organizing training camps, and preparing national teams for regional and international competitions.
The Directorate for Non-Olympic Sports is responsible for the development of disciplines that are not included in the Olympic Games program, including new and popular sports among youth. This makes the position of director key to the further progress of the sports sector in Kyrgyzstan.
