According to the proposed documents, it is suggested to:
- establish an information exchange between tax authorities and the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding the income of foreign citizens, as well as data from the passport-visa service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the multifunctional migration center in Moscow ("Saharovo");
- require migrants to provide for themselves and their families at a level not lower than the established minimum living wage in the corresponding region of Russia;
- introduce legal grounds for the annulment of work permits and migration statuses in cases where income cannot be confirmed. In such cases, the employment contract with a citizen of the EAEU will be considered invalid.
It is also planned to empower territorial divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the right to verify the existence and level of income of foreign citizens. The results of such checks may lead to a reduction in the duration of their temporary stay in the country.
Additionally, the Russian government intends to significantly increase the minimum wage for highly qualified specialists.
It is expected that the new bills will come into effect next year.
