In Russia, the government has initiated a bill according to which the children of labor migrants will have to leave the country upon reaching the age of 18. This document has been submitted to the State Duma and is available in the electronic database.

According to the proposal, low-income migrants will not be able to obtain work patents, and the children of foreigners will have to leave Russia or obtain their own patent within a month after reaching adulthood.

The initiative implies that the children of migrants can only stay in the country for the duration of their parents' work permit, and on the condition of paying a fixed advance tax on personal income for themselves and each child. At the same time, patent restrictions will apply to migrants with incomes below the subsistence minimum. If the declared income of a foreigner is found to be below this norm, the patent will be denied.

The draft also states that the refusal to issue or extend a work patent will apply to those migrants whose income does not reach the subsistence minimum calculated for themselves and their dependents residing in Russia.
