The activist appealed to the Ministry of Culture with a question about the legality of the ongoing work.
On February 25, activists in Bishkek marked the beginning of the installation of a ventilated facade on the building of the Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports named after B.T. Turusbekov. This was reported by public figure Bermet Borubaeva through her social media.
She emphasized that this building is a monument of architecture of national significance, which raises serious doubts about the legality of the current work that may lead to the destruction of the historical facade.
“We have submitted a request to the Ministry of Culture to find out whether these works have been approved by the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic. Conducting insulation and other works on protected sites requires careful coordination with experts. The law provides for the preservation of the cultural heritage of our country in such activities,” Borubaeva noted.
The activist also raised the question of whether this work is being carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and whether it will preserve the historical appearance of the building's facade.
Bermet Borubaeva reminded that the President of Kyrgyzstan graduated from this educational institution in 1992 and expressed hope that the head of state would provide assistance in this matter and oversee the preservation of the historical appearance of the sites.
