The new championship season of the Kyrgyzstan Premier League in football has kicked off in Bishkek. The opening matches took place at the National Academy of Football of the KFS.
The first to take the field was Bishkek's "Ilbirs," which faced Osh's "Alaï." The match ended in a 1:1 draw. The home team opened the scoring in the first minute thanks to Ukrainian midfielder Taras Gevlich, who scored after a quick attack. In response, in the second half, Uzbek forward Doniyor Ismailov equalized in the 66th minute after a cross from the flank. The best player of the match was noted to be Andrey Levkovets from "Ilbirs." The main referee of the match was Erlanbek Osmonov.
In the second match of the day, Kochkor-Ata's "Nefchi" suffered a defeat against "Uzgen" with a score of 1:2. The first to score was Akram Umarov in the 60th minute, spectacularly hitting the net from a corner kick. "Uzgen" quickly responded: in the 66th minute, Mikhail Titov, a forward for the Turkmenistan national team, equalized the score, and three minutes later, Orkhan Aliyev set the final result by converting a one-on-one opportunity. The main referee of this match was Sanjar Jakypbekov.
The title of the current champion of the country is held by Karakol's "Bars." Last season, the top five also included "Muras United," "Abdysh-Ata," "Dordoi," and "Alaï."
In the 2026 season, 16 teams participate in the Premier League, including newcomers "Asia" from Talas and "Toktogul."
