This year, the training of specialists in the field of psychology and pedagogy will begin.
At a meeting of the committee on science, education, innovations, and information technologies, culture, sports, and youth affairs, deputy Gulsharkan Kultaeva raised the important issue of the shortage of psychologists in educational institutions.
She addressed representatives of the relevant ministries with a question about the possibility of increasing the number of school psychologists.
Deputy Minister of Finance Zhibek Duyshieva, in response to her inquiry, reported on the development of a joint draft resolution with the Ministry of Education.
“Currently, despite the availability of all necessary permits, the shortage of personnel remains a pressing issue. Therefore, a decision was made to implement a phased approach, which will be carried out at the district level depending on the training of specialists and their availability, and then distributed among schools,” she explained.
For his part, Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations Durus Kozyuev added that universities already have departments and faculties in the field of "Psychology."
“Nevertheless, there has been a sharp shortage of qualified psychologists recently. Therefore, this issue is receiving special attention, and starting this year, new training profiles for the preparation of psychologist-pedagogues will be introduced,” he noted.
