A new 110/35/10 kV substation named "Kur-Terek" has begun construction in the Naryn region. According to information from the local energy authority, this decision was made to ensure reliable electricity supply to new industrial, residential, and social facilities. The Naryn Electric Networks enterprise, known as "NES Kyrgyzstan," has changed the design parameters, abandoning the original plan to build a 35 kV substation "Kur-Terek." Instead, the plans for capital construction in 2025 now include the creation of a 110/35/10 kV substation and a 10.42 km overhead power line.

Additionally, in the industrial park "SEZ Naryn - SEZ Kashkar" in Kur-Terek, the project "Two Countries - Two Parks" is being implemented, which has initiated the construction of four new industrial enterprises. These facilities require additional electricity volumes for their stable operation.

The implementation of the new project will help ease the load on the existing 110/35/10 kV substation "Naryn-1," as well as ensure the future development of the region's energy system and create conditions for connecting new facilities, including residential complexes from GIK and the reconstructed "Naryn" airport.

Construction work started in April 2025 and is currently ongoing actively. A 400 kVA transformer substation has been installed for temporary power supply to the construction site at the "Kur-Terek" area.

Funding for the construction of the substation is being provided from the company's own resources, "NES Kyrgyzstan." The facility is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2026.
