At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on March 4, Deputy Surabaldiyeva reminded about the traditional march against violence against women, femicide, and discrimination, which takes place in Bishkek every March 8.

She noted that the event is organized to draw attention to the need to uphold women's rights and to inform the public. "The organizers approached me with a request to support their initiative and to allow the march, which will take place from the Urkuye Salieva monument to Gorky Square," she reported.

According to the deputy, only women and girls will participate in the march. "We are not afraid of them, are we? Let's perceive the situation correctly and grant permission. We can arrange for a traffic police vehicle to be present at the beginning and end of the column," she added. The deputy also noted that the march is not associated with any foreign ideology and that previously expressed concerns were provocations by government officials.
