According to data from the World Health Organization, since 1990, the obesity rate among adults has more than doubled, and among adolescents, it has increased fourfold.
The causes of excess weight and obesity include a mismatch between the amount of energy consumed and its expenditure, as well as numerous factors including lifestyle, environment, psychological aspects, and genetic predisposition.
This condition significantly increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases, type II diabetes, hypertension, joint diseases, and certain types of cancer.
Additionally, children with obesity face problems such as shortness of breath and an increased susceptibility to fractures, and may also experience psychological difficulties.
Obesity prevention should begin at an early age.
