On March 9, during an extraordinary session of the Manas city council, the deputies elected a new chairman. A special commission was formed to organize the voting. In the first round, neither of the two candidates was able to obtain the required number of votes.
After three hours of discussions, in the second round of voting, 33-year-old deputy Askhat Talant uulu was elected as the chairman of the Manas city council.
The previous chairman was Nurtilek Bolotov, who resigned.
According to the deputies, the new speaker is one of the youngest heads of local government bodies in his region.
The new chairman will soon begin to carry out his duties.
