The Ministry of Health conducted an analysis of the work of the anesthesiology and resuscitation service for the year 2025, as well as discussed plans for its further development.

According to the information from the department's press service, there are currently 538 anesthesiologists-resuscitators and 1,161 nurses functioning in the country. Healthcare institutions have 733 beds in anesthesiology, resuscitation, and intensive care units. In 2025, more than 105,000 anesthesias were performed during surgical operations and medical procedures, and the number of patients treated in resuscitation and intensive care amounted to 95,733.

During the meeting, participants noted the important role of the anesthesiology and resuscitation service in the healthcare system, as it ensures the functioning of operating rooms, assists patients in critical condition, and provides emergency medical care.

However, some problems were also mentioned, such as the shortage of specialists, especially in remote regions, the high workload on existing staff, and the need to improve training and develop a system of continuous education in medicine.

Special attention was also paid to the issues of the quality of medical equipment and its operation.

Experts noted that some medical institutions have modern equipment, but some of it requires technical maintenance, repair, or is not fully utilized due to a lack of necessary consumables or insufficient staff qualifications.
Issues related to improving the efficiency of monitoring the work of resuscitation departments, enhancing reporting, and technical support for medical equipment were also discussed.

Health Minister Damir Osmonov emphasized that the development of the anesthesiology and resuscitation service is one of the main directions in healthcare, as this service treats the most critically ill patients and supports the work of surgical services.

Following the meeting, the minister issued several instructions to the relevant departments of the Ministry of Health:

— conduct a complete analysis of the staffing of the anesthesiology and resuscitation service by regions and prepare proposals for improving the training and retraining of specialists;

— ensure control over the effective use of high-tech medical equipment in healthcare institutions;

— strengthen the monitoring of the work of resuscitation and intensive care units.
