Teachers had previously expressed concerns that the salary increase would only affect English language and STEM subject teachers.
The Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic confirmed that starting from April 2026, the salary increase will apply to all teachers, not just those who teach English and STEM subjects.
Teachers from the Issyk-Ata district and Naryn region had previously voiced fears that the salary increases would be implemented in stages and would primarily affect only certain categories of educators.
The ministry noted: "By the directive of President Sadyr Japarov, starting from April 1, 2026, the salaries of education sector workers will be increased by 100% compared to current figures. This increase will apply to all teachers, regardless of the subject they teach."
Thus, the head of state clarified that teachers' salaries will rise by 100%.
