The situation regarding animal diseases raises serious concerns, as vaccination proves to be ineffective.
At a recent meeting of the committee on agrarian policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Tabildy Muratbekov reported receiving complaints from villagers regarding the infectious disease foot-and-mouth disease in livestock.
He noted that animals exhibit symptoms such as high fever and loss of appetite, which in some cases leads to their death.
Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Mirbek Duyshiev, responding to these statements, said that the situation is under control. He added that over the past two years, nine types of vaccines for animals have been purchased in advance, which eliminates vaccination issues. He also emphasized that no cases of foot-and-mouth disease have been officially registered in the country.
Nevertheless, Deputy Muratbekov expressed his disagreement with this information.
“You are either mistaken or not aware of the situation. Citizens engaged in livestock farming report that their animals cannot eat grass and have a high temperature. The situation with foot-and-mouth disease is critical. Vaccination is conducted once a year; however, according to people's feedback, it does not yield the expected results,” he noted.
