In the country, hemodialysis is provided by 54 medical institutions, of which two are state-owned, four operate on a public-private partnership basis, and 48 are private clinics. The distribution of hemodialysis centers by region is as follows:
- Bishkek — 11 centers;
- Issyk-Kul region — 5;
- Jalal-Abad region — 8;
- Talas region — 3;
- Naryn region — 3;
- Osh region — 6;
- Batken region — 6;
- Chui region — 6.
Funding for hemodialysis is fully covered by the state. In the budget for 2025, about 3.5 billion soms are allocated for these purposes.
It was previously reported that every week, 20 new patients begin receiving renal replacement therapy through hemodialysis. The expenses of the republican budget amount to 936 thousand soms per year per patient, while the cost of one dialysis session is 6,500 soms.
When performing a kidney transplant, funding for immunosuppressive therapy for the patient for one year after the operation amounts to 250 thousand soms. In this regard, a regulation on free kidney transplantation has been developed.
Since 2018, 81 kidney transplant operations have been performed at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health, of which 38 were conducted on a budgetary basis.
