The kidney transplant was performed on a patient born in 1981, who had been on hemodialysis since 2018. The donor was his brother, born in 1978. Both patients are feeling stable and are under the supervision of medical specialists.
Since the launch of the kidney transplant program at NCOMCH, which began in 2018, a total of 81 operations have been performed, of which 38 were conducted on a budgetary basis.

Modern immunological testing methods have also been implemented at NCOMCH during transplantation, which include assessing histocompatibility according to the HLA system, cross-matching (Crossmatch), and calculating the PRA indicator. This innovation significantly enhances the safety of operations and improves long-term outcomes for patients.
Currently, about 200 people are waiting for their turn for a kidney transplant, being in the 5th stage of chronic kidney disease.
The NCOMCH team is ready to receive patients for consultations and preparation for possible surgeries.
