Since January 2024, the NCPMC has started free kidney transplant surgeries funded by the budget. Currently, 38 such surgeries have already been performed.

On February 12, 2026, another free surgery was performed. The recipient, 39-year-old A.N., had been on chronic hemodialysis for eight months due to stage five chronic kidney disease. The surgery was successful, and his condition is assessed as stable; he is currently in the intensive care unit of the transplant department at NCPMC. His 37-year-old brother A.M. was the donor.
The transplant department of NCPMC is equipped with modern medical equipment and has a qualified team of specialists.
The methodology of immunological testing in kidney transplantation is being implemented for the first time at NCPMC, which is an important step in the field of transplantation. These studies assist in donor selection, predicting rejection, adjusting immunosuppressive therapy, and reducing cases of acute and chronic rejections, which contributes to increasing the lifespan of the transplanted kidney. Specialists underwent training in Turkey and Russia to master this methodology.
"The development of the transplantation program is a priority direction for the Ministry of Health. Thanks to government support and the high level of professionalism of domestic surgeons, high-tech surgeries are now successfully performed in Kyrgyzstan, allowing lives to be saved without the need to go abroad," noted the NCPMC.
As of today, 206 patients with stage five chronic kidney disease are waiting for a kidney transplant. The medical team at NCPMC is constantly accepting patients for consultations and preparation for possible surgeries.
