The recipient was a 50-year-old woman who had been battling viral hepatitis B, C, and D for eight years, which led to liver cirrhosis. The donor was her 25-year-old son. The operation lasted more than six hours and was conducted under the guidance of Murad Navruzbekov, head of the liver transplantation department at the Nikolai Sklifosovsky Emergency Medicine Research Institute, in collaboration with the team from the Osh State University medical center.
Kanybek Dosmambetov noted that the development of transplantation is a strategic step towards improving the accessibility of high-quality medical care and enhancing the quality of life for patients. "It is important for citizens to receive such assistance at home, without going abroad," he added.
