Starting January 1, 2026, a pilot project will begin in Kyrgyzstan that aims to grant autonomy to a number of medical organizations. This decree was signed by the country's president, Sadyr Japarov, in 2025. This information was revealed by the acting Minister of Health, Kanibek Dosmambetov, during a working trip to the Medical Center of Osh State University on December 19.

Dosmambetov noted that within the framework of the new project, about 20 medical institutions will gain the opportunity for expanded managerial and financial independence.

The Minister of Health emphasized that the management model used at the Medical Center of Osh State University could serve as a basis for implementing this project. In the event of a successful pilot, this approach is planned to be expanded throughout the republic.

The leadership of the Osh State University Medical Center added that they will continue to develop liver transplantation and other high-tech medical services while adhering to clinical protocols, biosafety requirements, and the regulations of the Kyrgyz Republic.
