Dosmambetov was born on January 20, 1979.
Throughout his career, he has held the position of Deputy Director at the State National Security Committee (GKNB) and headed the 6th Main Directorate of the GKNB.
Before becoming the acting Minister of Health, he led the Main Directorate of the GKNB in the Jalal-Abad region.
Daiyr Orunbekov, head of the Information Policy Service of the Presidential Administration, commented on this appointment. He emphasized that Kanibek Dosmambetov came to the Ministry of Health from outside, which is an important point.
According to Orunbekov, while serving as the head of the GKNB department in the Jalal-Abad region, Dosmambetov achieved significant results in a short period: assets that were previously removed from state ownership through corrupt schemes were returned, and corruption was eliminated, allowing entrepreneurs to start working after official registration.
Orunbekov stressed that there is a pressing need for reforms and significant changes in the healthcare system.
“Kanibek Dosmambetov, who has established himself as a reformer and effective manager, has been chosen for this position. Some may ask, ‘How can he manage healthcare without a medical education?’ However, his deputies will be experts with deep knowledge in this field and extensive experience in the system. Dosmambetov will focus on combating the corrupt schemes that have existed in healthcare for many years and restoring order,” he stated.
Orunbekov also noted that there are many clans and intrigues within the healthcare system, and a person who has long worked within this system is unlikely to be able to change it.
