The President emphasized the importance of teachers in reforming the educational system, noting that the state recognizes their significant role.
He reported that currently, the average salary of educators is 26,000 soms, but starting in April 2026, it will rise to 40,000 soms. In cities, teachers with little experience earn about 22,000 soms. In rural areas, Kyrgyz language teachers with a bachelor's degree currently earn 23,151 soms, and after the increase, their salary will be 27,360 soms. Mathematics teachers working in remote mountainous regions currently earn 65,809 soms, and after the increase, their salary will reach 80,863 soms," the head of state noted.
It should be reminded that the last salary increase for teachers occurred in April 2022, when the payment system was revised: now educators receive a fixed salary instead of hourly pay, and limits on maximum workload have been introduced. As a result, the current average salary is approximately 26,000 soms.
It is expected that the next salary increases will occur in April and October 2026.
