The Acting Minister of Health, Kanbek Dosmambetov, unexpectedly visited the pediatric oncology department at the National Center for Oncology and Radiology, where issues related to the procurement of medications were discussed.
The minister emphasized the unacceptability of disruptions and opaque processes in the drug supply system, especially when it comes to children and life-saving medications.
According to Dosmambetov, the current situation in the procurement area requires not only local solutions but also a thorough systemic assessment and subsequent management measures.
In this regard, the acting minister announced the establishment of a special commission that will conduct a comprehensive analysis of the work of the Department of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, as well as the state enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacia." The commission's task will be to study the existing procurement procedures, identify problem areas, and develop recommendations to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the drug supply system.
