Sergey Goutier, a Russian surgeon and transplantologist, visited the National Surgical Center (NSC) in Bishkek. This was reported by representatives of the center.

During the visit, a tour was organized for him, during which he became acquainted with the modern operating rooms and the latest equipment designed for liver transplant surgeries.

At a meeting with the NSC staff, current issues in Kyrgyzstan's medicine and the latest achievements in the field of organ transplantation were discussed. Goutier also shared his experience and conducted a lecture on transplantation for the surgeons of the NSC and invited specialists.

“We strive for further development of transplant assistance, especially in such a complex area as liver transplantation. The NSC is well-prepared to implement this program: we saw that we are satisfied with the level of readiness, and now we can start,” noted Sergey Goutier.

During his visit to Turkey in 2024, Health Minister Alimkadir Beishenaliev promised to create conditions for performing liver transplant surgeries in Kyrgyzstan. This became possible after a team of NSC specialists went on a three-month internship in Turkey, and the necessary equipment was also purchased.

It was previously reported that over 100 million soms were allocated for the repair and acquisition of modern equipment at the NSC, of which 70 percent was spent on purchasing high-tech devices.
