During his working visit, he familiarized himself with the situation at the City Children's Clinical Emergency Hospital and the Republican Clinical Infectious Disease Hospital, the press center of the Ministry of Health reports.
The heads of these institutions noted that there has been an increase in the number of visits and hospitalizations this season. According to their observations, most cases of infection occur in places where many children gather, such as playgrounds in large shopping centers in Bishkek.
Additionally, the issue of a shortage of medical personnel, especially pediatricians, infectious disease specialists, and nursing staff, was raised.
During the visit, the minister instructed the need to: increase the number of medical staff in children's and infectious disease hospitals by attracting specialists from the primary healthcare network; create more comfortable conditions for young patients and their accompanying persons; ensure the availability of drinking water in waiting areas; open additional rooms for patient reception, which will help reduce queues and avoid crowding.
The minister emphasized that the peak of influenza and ARVI cases usually occurs in December, and the Ministry of Health is already developing additional measures to alleviate the burden on hospitals.
In light of the increase in cases of influenza and ARVI, the department advises citizens that upon the appearance of the first symptoms—such as fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, or general weakness—they should contact family medicine centers (FMC) in their place of residence.
Despite this, visiting hospitals without serious necessity may lead to increased waiting times, a higher risk of contracting other viruses, and a deterioration in condition, especially in children.
The FMCs in Bishkek operate according to the following schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 08:00–20:00;
- Saturday: 08:00–18:00;
- Sunday: 08:00–14:00.
Among the recommendations for the prevention of viral infections are:
- regular ventilation of premises;
- thorough hand washing with soap;
- avoiding crowded places, using masks in public areas;
- strengthening the immune system: balanced nutrition, adequate fluid intake, sufficient sleep;
- timely consultation with family doctors.
