During his working visit, the minister familiarized himself with the operations of the City Children's Clinical Emergency Hospital and the Republican Clinical Infectious Disease Hospital. The heads of these institutions noted that there is an increase in the number of visits and hospitalizations at this time of year. According to them, many cases of infection are recorded in places with large gatherings of children, such as play areas in major shopping centers.
The minister also pointed out the shortage of medical personnel, including pediatricians and infectious disease specialists. In response, he instructed to strengthen the work of children's and infectious hospitals by attracting specialists from the primary healthcare network. Additionally, it was proposed to improve conditions for young patients, ensure their access to drinking water, and create additional reception areas to minimize queues and avoid crowding.
According to Checheybaev, December is traditionally the peak month for ARVI and influenza incidence. The ministry is already developing additional measures to relieve the burden on hospitals and enhance preventive activities.
The agency reminded that at the first signs of illness—high fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, and general weakness—citizens should contact the Family Medicine Centers in their area. Unnecessary visits to hospitals can lead to increased waiting times and the risk of additional infections, especially among children.
The Family Medicine Centers in Bishkek operate according to the following schedule:
- Mon–Fri: 08:00–20:00
- Saturday: 08:00–18:00
- Sunday: 08:00–14:00
The Ministry of Health also strongly recommends adhering to preventive measures: regularly ventilate rooms, wash hands with soap, avoid crowded places, use masks, strengthen immunity, and promptly consult family doctors.
