As part of the seminar dedicated to human resource management, Minister Erkin Checheybaev announced a review of the systems for appointing, selecting, and evaluating the heads of medical institutions.

This seminar gathered employees from the personnel departments of the Ministry of Health and its subordinate organizations. The main goal of the events is to enhance the professional skills of the participants, develop managerial and communication abilities, as well as to teach strategic planning and decision-making.

The minister emphasized the need to implement transparent and fair decisions based on evidence and the principles of meritocracy, excluding any manifestations of corruption.

He also noted that the working group is focusing on improving the system for appointing and evaluating the heads of healthcare organizations. The main emphasis is placed on the fact that chief doctors must be effective managers.

“It is not necessary for a leader to be an outstanding doctor. A good doctor should focus on treating patients, and a professor should concentrate on teaching students and advancing science. However, a good doctor or professor is not always capable of being a successful manager. A manager is someone who knows how to create a productive atmosphere in the team, motivate employees, and lead them towards common goals,” he added.

Upon completion of the training, participants will gain in-depth knowledge in labor and state legislation, personnel management, and strategic planning.
