Kyrgyzstan and France Discussed Expanding Cooperation in the Development of Medical Infrastructure

During a working visit to France, the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Erkin Checheybaev, led a delegation that held an important meeting with the leadership of the Treasury Department of the Ministry of Finance of France.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, representatives of the Kyrgyz Embassy in France also participated in the negotiations. The French side was represented by Deputy Director for Economic Relations and Partnerships Fanny Labart and Deputy Head of the Direct Export Financing Department Marten Folliasson.

The main focus of the meeting was on issues of cooperation in financing and developing medical infrastructure. A key point of discussion was the strategic project for the construction of a new medical campus in Kyrgyzstan. The Minister of Health presented the concept of this project, which envisions the creation of a modern integrated complex providing a full cycle of medical services—from diagnostics and treatment to technical maintenance, operational support, and training of personnel in accordance with international standards.

The parties also discussed the possibility of applying French experience in the design, management, and operation of medical institutions, as well as various formats of technical cooperation. They reviewed several financial mechanisms and agreed to continue working on proposals at the expert level.

As a result of the meeting, the parties expressed interest in further deepening dialogue and exchanging information to determine the optimal format of cooperation that would align with the priorities of modernizing the healthcare system of the Kyrgyz Republic.
