Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Fund to Finance the Construction of a Hydroelectric Power Station in Kara-Kuldja

The sixth meeting of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund Council took place in Bishkek, chaired by Elnur Aliyev, the First Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan. The press service of the Ministry of Economy reported that representatives of the government structures of both countries also participated in the event.

During the meeting, an investment project for the construction of a small hydroelectric power station was approved, which will have a capacity of 5.4 megawatts and will be located on the Kulun River in the Kara-Kulja District of the Osh Region. Changes were also made to the internal regulations of the fund.

The implementation of this project is expected to create new jobs, improve the industrial potential of the region, reduce dependence on imports, and strengthen national energy security. The total cost of the project is 5.2 million dollars, of which 2.5 million will be allocated by the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund.

In addition, the participants discussed other important aspects of cooperation and reviewed several additional initiatives.
