The Minister of Health invited the French to participate in the project for the construction of a medical city in the Kyrgyz Republic

During his working visit to France, the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Erkin Checheybaev, spoke at the first Kyrgyz-French forum dedicated to investments and cooperation in the field of healthcare. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

This event became a central moment within the framework of the Cooperation Days between medical institutions of France and Kyrgyzstan, gathering representatives from major French companies, research institutes, medical and technological enterprises, as well as investors and international organizations.
The opening of the forum was marked by a speech from the General Delegate of the French Healthcare Association, Émile Jockey, who emphasized the growing interest of the French side in establishing long-term relationships with Kyrgyzstan in the fields of medicine, digital technologies, and pharmaceuticals.
In his address, the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed gratitude to the French side for the warm welcome and noted that the development of international partnerships is an important aspect of modernizing the country's healthcare system. He added that the government is currently making significant efforts to reform the sector, focusing on investments in infrastructure, digitalization, disease prevention, and workforce training. The main goal of state policy is the understanding that the health of citizens is a critically important indicator of socio-economic progress.
The Minister also spoke about the key aspects of the modernization program, including the implementation of the presidential decree on the creation of a new medical city—a modern high-tech cluster that will unite the leading medical institutions of the country. The project envisions the creation of infrastructure with a total area of about 300 thousand square meters with more than 3,200 beds on an area of about 100 hectares. The complex will include treatment, diagnostic, educational, and research directions, meeting high standards of environmental friendliness, energy efficiency, and comfort for patients and medical staff.
The Minister invited French partners to participate in this project, noting that the opportunities for cooperation encompass engineering, architectural, technological, and medical solutions, as well as joint scientific and educational initiatives. This project offers broad prospects for technological, engineering, and investment interaction with international partners.
Erkin Checheybaev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is interested in attracting foreign partners to implement digital solutions in healthcare, including electronic medical systems, the development of telemedicine, and the production of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, as well as the exchange of experience in creating modern medical clusters. He also highlighted the importance of applying artificial intelligence in medicine, where France holds a leading position in Europe.

The Minister noted that technologies that once seemed to be a distant future are now becoming necessary tools for diagnosis, early detection of diseases, remote monitoring, and improving the effectiveness of medical care in remote regions.
Kyrgyzstan also presented to the forum participants the main directions of state policy in the field of healthcare, including the development of the mandatory health insurance system, improving access to medical services and protecting the population, implementing the national program "Healthy Person - Prosperous Country," and preparing a new strategy for the prevention of non-communicable diseases.

The Minister also emphasized the importance of strengthening human resource capacity, creating conditions for the professional growth of specialists, and developing rehabilitation services. An important focus was on improving the management of medical institutions and further developing digital transformation, including the integration of medical data, the introduction of electronic records, "digital FAPs," and new services for citizens.
The Kyrgyz Republic is open to the introduction of innovations, new technologies, and advanced management solutions in medicine. Cooperation with international partners is viewed as a long-term interaction based on trust, mutual interest, and joint efforts to improve the quality of medical care.
