In Kyrgyzstan, 7949 cases of ARVI and 17 cases of influenza were registered in a week

From November 10 to 16, Kyrgyzstan recorded 7,949 cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and 17 cases of influenza, reports the Ministry of Health.

Compared to the previous week, this figure increased by 17.3%. Of the total number of infected, 65.5% are children under 14 years old, which corresponds to 5,216 cases. Hospitalization affected 8.5% of patients, amounting to 679 people.

The highest number of cases is observed in Bishkek and Osh, as well as in the Naryn, Issyk-Kul, and Chui regions.

The State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance continues to monitor the situation with severe acute respiratory infections and influenza-like illnesses in Bishkek, Osh, and Tokmok. During sample collection over the week, 17 cases of influenza were detected in Bishkek and Osh: 16 cases of influenza A/H3N2 and 1 case of influenza B.

In addition, the circulation of acute respiratory viral infections is being recorded. The most common are adenovirus (31.3% or 10 cases), rhinovirus (28.1% or 9 cases), parainfluenza types I–IV (18.7% or 6 cases), and other viruses (21.9% or 7 cases).

The Ministry of Health is monitoring student attendance across the country. In the 46th week, the absenteeism rate of students in Bishkek due to ARVI was 3.2%, which corresponds to the seasonal norm. The epidemiological situation remains stable, and monitoring continues, adds the department.
