According to information from the Ministry of Health, six experienced surgeons from Qatar have arrived to perform cochlear implantation surgeries for children suffering from hearing impairments.
This mission is being carried out under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Donations and Islamic Affairs of Qatar and the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.
By the directive of the Ministry of Health, 64 children have been selected for cochlear implantation surgery, along with medical examinations.
The Qatari side fully covers the funding for the purchase of implants and surgeries, and also organizes training for Kyrgyz medical professionals and provides rehabilitation for children after the surgeries.
The Ministry of Health noted that since 2020, cochlear implantation surgeries have been successfully conducted at the National Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood, allowing more than 200 children to regain their hearing. International cooperation and the exchange of experience significantly enhance the accessibility of high-tech medical care for children with hearing impairments in Kyrgyzstan.
