Since October 30, 2025, a charitable program organized by doctors from Qatar has been launched at the National Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood (NCOMC).
The group consists of six experienced surgeons who will perform cochlear implantation surgeries for children with hearing problems.
This initiative is being implemented under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the government of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Donations and Islamic Affairs, and the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.
In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, a medical examination and selection of 64 children who will receive cochlear implants has been conducted.
The funding for the purchase of implants and surgical interventions is fully covered by Qatar, which also provides training for Kyrgyz specialists and medical staff. Additionally, Qatar covers the costs of rehabilitation for children after surgeries.
Cochlear implantation surgeries have been performed at the NCOMC since 2020. During this time, more than 200 children have been able to restore their hearing thanks to such interventions. International cooperation and experience exchange contribute to improving access to high-tech medical care for children with hearing impairments in Kyrgyzstan.
