The operations were performed in a high-tech angiographic operating room using modern intraoperative imaging techniques. The multidisciplinary team included not only neurosurgeons but also anesthesiologists, radiology technicians, and intensive care specialists. This approach ensured a high degree of safety, diagnostic accuracy, and treatment efficacy.
Before the intervention, thorough angiographic diagnostics were conducted to study the anatomical structure of the vessels, as well as the size and location of pathological formations. After collective discussion, the best treatment strategy for each patient was determined.
Surgical interventions were performed through arterial access using digital subtraction angiography, which allowed for reduced radiation exposure and precise positioning of instruments.
In cases of aneurysms, endovascular occlusion of the aneurysm was performed while preserving the patency of the main vessel. In cases of arteriovenous malformations, selective catheterization of the feeding vessels was carried out, followed by targeted embolization of the pathological focus. Control angiograms confirmed complete exclusion of the pathological vessel and preservation of normal cerebral perfusion.
All operations were successful, and the postoperative period for the patients proceeded without complications. The children's condition is stable, and their neurological status corresponds to age norms.
The collaboration of neurosurgeons from two leading medical institutions in the country demonstrated a high level of professionalism and the effectiveness of teamwork. These interventions marked an important step in the development of pediatric endovascular neurosurgery in Kyrgyzstan, highlighting the potential of local medicine in treating complex vascular diseases of the brain in children.
