Omurbek Asan uulu, a promising young freestyle wrestler from Kyrgyzstan, is preparing for his debut at the significant international tournament Poddubny Wrestling League (PWL 11). The event will take place on March 27, 2026, in Tashkent.
Asan uulu will compete in the 61 kg weight category, and his opponent will be the experienced Russian athlete Chermen Tavitov. Tavitov, who is the holder of the Ivan Yarygin Cup and a finalist in the prestigious tournament in Albania, makes this match one of the most anticipated on the program.
Despite being only 19 years old, Omurbek has already made a name for himself on the national stage, winning a silver medal at the adult championship of Kyrgyzstan at the end of 2025, where he lost in the final only to Bekzat Almaz uulu, the leader of his weight category.
The tournament in Uzbekistan promises to be a true celebration for wrestling fans in Central Asia. In addition to Asan uulu, outstanding athletes such as Akjol Mahmudov, Aiperi Medet kyzy, and Abdumalik Karachov will also participate in the program.
For the young Kyrgyz wrestler, the match against Tavitov will be an important test and an opportunity to confirm his ambitions as one of the most promising lightweight wrestlers on the international stage.
