In Almaty, Kazakhstan, a 68-year-old woman underwent surgery to remove a massive malignant tumor weighing nearly 25 kilograms. This tumor quickly filled the entire abdominal cavity, as reported by Tengrinews.kz.

Medical specialists noted that the patient had not sought help from doctors for a long time, preferring alternative treatment methods.

According to the pensioner herself, she had been feeling unwell for one and a half to two months and during this time took various dietary supplements, hoping for an improvement in her condition; however, the tumor continued to grow.

The woman's relatives reported that she had concealed her serious condition and even took out loans to purchase dietary supplements. She only decided to see a doctor after a significant deterioration in her health. At the Almaty Oncology Center, she underwent examinations, including a CT scan, which revealed a large mass in the abdominal and pelvic area.

“The tumor reached sizes comparable to late-stage pregnancy (55 by 35 centimeters) and effectively filled the entire abdominal cavity, spreading into the pelvic area. The doctors decided to perform an urgent surgery after preparation,” the medical report states.

The operation lasted approximately 2.5 hours.

According to the results of the histological analysis, a dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the retroperitoneal space with areas of necrosis was identified, confirming the malignant nature of the tumor, the doctors report.

Currently, the woman is undergoing chemotherapy and is under careful observation by medical specialists.
