Today, March 23, journalist Mahabat Tajibek kyzy was released from the colony.

Her colleagues and brother Maksat came to meet her.

With gratitude, Mahabat noted: "I want to thank everyone who supported me. This support was felt both among the international community and here in my homeland. I am immensely grateful to everyone."

She also shared her plans for the future.

“First, I plan to take a good shower,” she said with a smile. “And then, of course, I will go to my small homeland to see my son. It was the hardest time — being away from him. I missed him terribly. After that, I will read the Quran in memory of my father,” Mahabat added, once again thanking everyone who supported her.

Let us remind you that Mahabat Tajibek kyzy was detained in January 2024 along with ten employees of Temirov Live. They were charged with organizing mass riots. On February 25, 2025, the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan reviewed the appeal of three of the detainees, upholding the decision of the previous instance: Mahabat was sentenced to six years in prison, Azamat Ishenbekov to five years, and Aike Beishekeeva received three years of probation. Aktilek Kaparov received three years of probation without appealing this decision. The other seven defendants in the case were acquitted due to lack of evidence of a crime. On March 10, the Supreme Court sent Mahabat's case for a new review. On March 23, the court changed the measure of restraint.
