In August of this year, a new wastewater treatment station is expected to be launched in Karakol, according to information from the city's press service.

The project is being implemented with the support of the Asian Development Bank and is of strategic importance for improving the ecological situation in the region. It aims to create safe living conditions for residents and enhance urban infrastructure.

Construction work is being carried out in two phases: in the first phase, the station will be able to process up to 12,000 m³ of wastewater per day, providing treatment for approximately 75,000 residents. The second phase, starting in 2027, will increase capacity to 24,000 m³ per day, allowing service for up to 150,000 people, provided there is full connection to the central sewage network.

Additionally, as part of the project, the expansion of 12.7 km of sewage networks in the city has already been completed, which will ensure effective connection of new areas to the treatment system.
