The Ministry of Labor has calculated the financial losses of citizens over the past year
In the process of job searching, many Kyrgyz citizens fall victim to scammers, leading to significant financial losses. Esenbek Ergeshov, head of the labor migration department at the Center for Employment of Citizens Abroad under the Ministry of Labor, Social Policy, and Migration, shared this information on the air of "Birinchi Radio."
According to him, last year the residents of the country lost about 110 thousand dollars. Scammers use various schemes, including targeted advertising on social media, promising high salaries in European countries, which often even local residents in similar positions do not receive. Ergeshov noted that the activity of fraudulent schemes is increasing, especially when the government organizes the departure of citizens abroad.
Recovering lost funds is not always possible, and even in rare cases, it is only feasible when the money is transferred within the country through the interbank system. If the funds were sent abroad, it is necessary to contact Interpol for further actions.
Moreover, illegal employment agencies are also widespread in the country. In 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs took action against 78 such organizations, imposing fines of up to 55 thousand soms on legal entities and up to 15 thousand soms on individuals. Those involved in organizing illegal migration may face imprisonment for a term of one to three years.
