At the GKNB, threats of extremism and the impact of crises in the Middle East were discussed

As part of the Academy of the State Committee for National Security, a round table was held dedicated to issues of combating international terrorism and religious extremism.

Representatives from the Anti-Terrorism Center, as well as relevant divisions of the State Committee for National Security, such as the counter-terrorism department, intelligence, and counterintelligence, along with specialists from territorial bodies, participated in this event.

The participants of the meeting discussed the current operational situation in Kyrgyzstan in the context of international terrorism and religious extremism. Special attention was given to the processes of rehabilitation and adaptation of citizens returning from conflict zones, including from Syria and Iraq, as well as their integration into society.

Also on the agenda was the impact of crises in the Middle East on the religious and socio-political situation in the country.

Experts presented an analysis of changes in the ideology of terrorist groups and the potential risks of spreading destructive ideas through information channels and migration flows.

As a result of the round table, the participants developed forecasts regarding the development of the situation in the medium and long term, emphasizing the need for coordination of efforts among state structures, the scientific community, and religious organizations to ensure national security.
