Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the 43-year-old Crown Prince of Dubai, has announced a new initiative in honor of Mother's Day. He proposed replacing the traditional term "housewife" with the more meaningful "creator of generations." This decision has been communicated to the Community Development Authority, as reported by Gulf Today.

The new wording will be applied on Emirates ID cards and in other official government documents. Additionally, the term "creator of generations" will be used in social programs and public discussions.

This initiative aims to emphasize the importance of mothers in shaping family and community structures. The introduction of the term "creator of generations" helps to rethink the role of motherhood as active and contributing to the development of the nation, rather than merely as a domestic function. "You are the foundation of all good," Sheikh Hamdan told mothers.

Although this innovation is symbolic, its cultural and social significance may set a precedent for rethinking and valuing the role of childcare in the United Arab Emirates.
